Our Expertise



Hamish is the store manager and has worked at The Running Edge since the day it opened.  Hamish enjoys mountain bike riding and is a good runner. When it comes to service and shoes, Hamish is a wealth of knowledge.  Hamish also conducts the store running group every Wednesday night.


Megan is a group fitness instructor at local gyms and a business graduate from UTAS. Since completing her first marathon, Megan has enthusiastically continued to run and is constantly looking for new challenges. Megan currently works with the online store.


Carmen has many qualifications including a Bachelor of Nursing, Sports Massage & Certificate 3 & 4 in fitness.  She was the 5 time Australian triple jump champion and former member of the Australian bobsleigh team. Carmen has worked at The Running Edge since 2009.  She is an enthusiastic runner and runs a fitness camp with her husband. In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit, fashion and spedning time with her young (and growing) family.


Jay moved down to Hobart from the Northern Territory in early 2012 - he has many years of experience in sports retail under his belt.  Jay is currently training for a marathon, is a keen rugby player and enjoys mountain bike riding in his spare time.


Alex is an excellent athlete and has represented the Australian Rowing team three times over. Originally from Western Australia, Alex relocated to Tasmania for rowing but has travelled the world throughout her rowing career.  On top of her extensive cross-training, Alex is studying nursing part-time.


Laura is a business graduate and has many years of customer service experience.  Laura is a friendly, fun-loving soul who loves the social aspect of sports and keeps fit through running, pilates and going to the gym. 


Oliver currently studies business law at UTAS, when he's not keeping his mind busy with study he is playing hockey with the Tasmanian state U/21 team. He also plays cricket & gets involved with local fun runs.  Oliver enjoys travelling & fishing on the East Coast when he gets the chance.



Julia is currently studying pharmacy at UTAS. She enjoys running and has been successful within this sport. Julia has represented Australia at the Youth Olympics and is a member of the Athletics Australia U/19 Talent Squad. Her highlight so far has been running a World Youth Qualifier in the 800m. After school, she plans to complete further study at UTAS in the Health Science Faculty.
